The Canon
The Canon is a new interactive big Screen Quiz Game for playing at Christian Youth and Children's clubs, groups and events.
Game Play
The Canon is based on the "Higher—Lower" card game, where contestants have to guess if the next card drawn from the pack will be higher or lower that the current card.
In The Canon Bibles take the place of a pack of cards and contestants guess whether the next Bible will open up on book that comes before or after the current book in biblical order. If the contestant guesses correctly they go on to predict the outcome of the next Bible, if they are wrong then their opponent gets a chance to guess. A round is won when a contestant correctly predicts the outcome of the sixth Bible.
Learning the Canon
We hope that The Canon will be a learning tool familiarising your children and young people with the (canonical) order of the books in the bible. Learning the order of all 66 books in one go is difficult, so each game of The Canon uses a smaller chunk of between 8 and 13 of the Bible's books. This chunk of books is listed on the screen during the game so players can see the position of the current book in relation to the other books in play.
Each time you play The Canon you can choose the chunk of books by selecting the chunk's first book and how many books it will contain.
